Our Director, Nurse Maxine Simmons is a Clinical Nurse Manager at King Edward Memorial Hospital where she has worked for the past 21 years as a nurse in the Geriatric service, Continuing Care Units and the Alzheimer’s related Disorders unit. She is dedicated to providing her patients with the best possible care.

The greater part of her more than 20 years at the King Edwards Memorial Hospital have been spent in Geriatric service, Continuing Care Units and the Alzheimer’s related Disorders unit.

There are few other people more qualified to undertake the task as Nursing Director & Assessor, with over two and a half decades of nursing experience!

Years As Clinical Manager

For fifteen years and going, she has been one of the lead nurses of two of the hospital’s most challenging wards (The Continuing Care Unit – CCU and now Gordon Ward). She is neither new to leadership nor does she shy away from it!

Preparing the next generation of Bermudian nurses is something she is passionate about and dives into with enthusiasm as she provides instructions for nurses at the Bermuda College
